History

The school was established in July 1979 under the name of 'TWGHs Kwai Shing Day Nursery' to provide child care and educational services in the western districts of the New Territories.

1985.9

In September 1985, the school started to operate the integrated programme for mildly disabled children, to provide evaluation, training and caring services for those mildly disabled children referred by the Social Welfare Department.  The professional team of the Social Welfare Department would visit the school on a regular basis to follow up on the children's progress, and advise the teachers and parents to enhance the overall development of the children, facilitating them for a smooth transition to mainstream education and society in the future.

1995.11

In November 1995, the school was renamed to TWGHs Lions Club of the Peak Hong Kong Nursery School in recognition and appreciation of the donation of HK$250,000 contributed by the Lions Club of the Peak.

1996.3

In March 1996, the school started the 'Occasional Child Care Service' to help parents solve their temporary child care needs.

2000.9

In September 2000, the school increased the 'Extended Hours Service' to meet working parents’ needs of longer hours of service.

2005.9

For better facilitation of pre-primary services, the school was registered as a Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centre under the Education Bureau in September 2005.

2009

In 2009, the school launched the 'Leap' Body Education Programme co-established by The Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation and the Cloud Gate Dance School in Taiwan.  Classes are available to K2 and K3 students.  Children were able use their bodies to create different motions and movements with the stimulation of different music and drama elements, and learn beauty and arts through games.  The operation of the 'Leap' Body Education Programme has been transferred to TWGHs since 2014.

2015.9

To answer the needs of the community, the school set up a second team of Integrated Programme for Mildly Disabled Children in September 2015.

2015

In response to the 2015 <Policy Address>, we cooperated with TWGHs <On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Services – Sunshine Kids> to provide early intervention service for children who were studying and waiting for pre-school rehabilitation services in our school.

2019.2

In February 2019, the school began providing school-based social work service, helping to increase the teaching and learning effectiveness, and to provide appropriate support, counselling, family visits and referral service to those needy children and parents.  The social worker would organize different seminars and workshops on topics like family relations, parenting skills, emotional counselling, children's growth etc. to help parents understand the needs of their children, so as to establish positive and healthy parent-child relationship.
